While liberal media elites have denied any knowledge of disgraced NBC host Matt Lauer’s alleged sexual misconduct, a new report of a top-secret “roast” of the former anchor that took place in New York in 2008 reveals that these news executives may not have been as in the dark as they claim.

The event reportedly included a litany of crude, sexual jokes aimed at the embattled NBC host which, according to Fox, “left little doubt that Lauer’s colleagues knew NBC’s biggest star had a troubled marriage and a wandering eye.”

And while this report proves that they knew what was going on, none of these media elites did a thing to stop Lauer.

The Roast

The 2008 Friars Club roast took place at the New York Hilton and was attended by the New York media’s most elite, including Brian Williams, Diane Sawyer, Nancy O’Dell, and Howard Stern. Many top NBC executives were in attendance as well, including Jeff Zucker, who now runs CNN.

According to Fox, Zucker said at the roast:

It’s just good to see Matt up here and not under my desk.

I don’t want to say Matt is a germophobe, but he’s the only guy I know who uses Purell both before and after he [sexual act].

During the roast, former Today star Katie Couric delivered her own top ten list of facts about Lauer. An extramarital affair with Ann Curry, who was in attendance, was the subject of at least one item on the list of facts.

Lauer Admits Guilt?

After the roast, a string notable, cringeworthy jokes came from the twice-married Lauer that seemed to validate the idea that he had sexual relationships with Curry and other co-workers. The jokes childishly referred to the size of Lauer’s genitalia.

He then made an inappropriate sexual remark about Couric related to her undergoing a colonoscopy on air.

NBC Executives “Unaware” of Lauer’s Advances

NBC News fired Lauer last week after a string of sexual misconduct charges levied by colleagues at the network. NBC top executives, including execs Andy Lack and Noah Oppenheim, still claim they had been completely unaware of Lauer’s lewd behavior.

Additionally, Lack and Oppenheim have refused to hire an independent investigator to conduct a probe into the sexual harassment case to find out who at the network may have known about what was happening.

Oppenheim paradoxically said that following their own investigation, anyone at the network with prior knowledge of the incidents would be punished “in the most severe way possible.”

We won’t be holding our breath.
