Jeanine Pirro: Dems have ‘hijacked’ House to maintain power, ‘remake America’

May 13, 2019

In a blistering opening statement on Saturday, Judge Jeanine Pirro blasted Democrats she says no longer care about representing constituents, but instead want to “remake America.”

The Fox pundit excoriated Democrats for “hijacking” the House of Representatives and abusing their power to investigate and obstruct President Donald Trump with false claims of a “constitutional crisis.” The Democrats no longer care about the people, and have committed themselves full-time to anti-Trump political theater, Pirro said.

“We need a House of Representatives that represents the people in this great nation. Not people who want to remake America and maintain their own power,” Pirro said. “God help us. God help us if we elect these same people and they stay in control of our country.

Abandoned duty

In a scorching monologue, Pirro argued that the time for an electoral reckoning is long overdue. Democrats no longer care about the people, only power and holding on to it. The Democrats have forfeited their obligation to represent the people to pursue a ruthless partisan campaign of “revenge” against the president and his attorney general, Pirro asserted.

“They’ve hijacked [the House] to maintain power for themselves. They don’t work for or represent you. In fact, they obstruct the work that they were sent to do by you so they can score political points,” Pirro said. “These radicals who have forfeited their job representing you, continue to resist, create havoc and claim Constitutional crisis.”

Pirro teed up a montage of House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and liberal talking heads such as Jim Acosta repeating the latest Democrat talking point almost in unison: that Trump had precipitated a “constitutional crisis” by “hiding” the Mueller report. The narrative took shape last week after Trump invoked executive privilege to block a Democrat subpoena for the full, unredacted Mueller report.

Watch Pirro’s statement below:

The “constitutional crisis” narrative is even more absurd and overblown than the fabricated crisis that preceded it — that Attorney General William Barr “covered up” the Mueller report — particularly since Barr has already made the full Mueller report public with minimal redactions. Still, Democrats have gone all-in on the “constitutional crisis” story to frame president Trump as guilty and desperate to “hide” what is in plain sight and publicly accessible to anyone with an Internet connection.

“Constitutional crisis — how? Because they can’t get the full Mueller report?” Pirro asked. “Are they all stupid? They’ve got 98% of the full report.”

Barr in “impossible position”

Pirro noted that Barr had already given Democrats the option of viewing a less-redacted version of the report, but they refused. Barr is also legally prohibited from releasing redacted sections of the report, including grand jury evidence. Democrats have put Barr in an “impossible position,” Pirro said.

She went on:

And I’ve got news for you bozos — you weren’t even entitled to any of it. The report was written for the attorney general by the special counsel. The attorney general decided to release a four-page conclusion and offered skeptical Democrats a SCIF, a secure facility, to see the whole report. Not one Democrat wanted to see it. So Attorney General Barr was in the impossible position of violating federal law and releasing 6E grand jury testimony or acquiescing to the demands of the radical looney left.

The Democrats are not “even entitled to any of it” since Robert Mueller works for Barr, not the other way around, Pirro noted. But Democrats have slandered Barr for weeks, insisting that Mueller testify to clear up what they call the attorney general’s lies.

Democrats capped off weeks of shameless slander by voting to hold Barr in contempt Wednesday, despite his cooperation and transparency in handling the report. More Democrats have, pathetically, called for Barr to be arrested and forced to testify to Congress about a report he has already publicized.

Pirro drew attention to the real constitutional crisis: namely that an unaccountable group of high-ranking intelligence bureaucrats, led by former FBI director James Comey, spied on a presidential campaign, and seeded a fake collusion narrative that obstructed Trump’s presidency for more than two years. Comey has repeatedly denied that spying occurred, and even said in a CNN town hall Thursday that the FBI doesn’t “spy,” but rather “investigates.”

Pirro said that Democrats have given up on working for the people to “muddy up” Barr in order to frame any attempt to hold Comey and his ilk accountable as blatantly political. With Barr in charge of the Justice Department, Pirro declared that the “jig is up” for “Cardinal Comey,” but she nevertheless urged viewers to take action to vote out corrupt lawmakers.

Citing a poll that 80% of Americans don’t approve of their representatives, Pirro said that lawmakers should not receive the generous salary, pension, or benefits that they enjoy, and she urged her audience to “get involved” and vote their representatives out of office if they don’t approve of their job.

Pirro is right. America needs lawmakers who will represent the people, not obstruct the president with a political circus.
