On Tuesday, leftist Kathy Griffin released a photo of her holding president Trump’s bloody, decapitated head for a photo shoot she called “art.” She has been rightfully subjected to backlash and criticism, but she will be feeling the most pain in her wallet.

The straw that broke the donkey’s back

Griffin was fired from her co-hosting gig at CNN’s New Year’s Eve celebration and lost a major endorsement deal with Squatty Potty, but the hits keep coming.

The Route 66 Hotel and Casino in Albuquerque announced they cancelled Griffin’s scheduled appearance in July after her image went viral on Tuesday and set the internet ablaze. “The performance by Kathy Griffin on July 22nd has been cancelled,” a post read on the New Mexico casino’s Facebook page, promising to refund guests who already purchased a ticket.

In response, many Facebook users commented on the post thanking the casino for their stand.

“She made a mockery and lessened the lives of the people who have been beheaded and murdered by isis!!” another user replied.

“Thank you for taking a stand against her vile actions,” one user wrote.

“Thank you for showing the world you don’t support vile, hate spewing, divisiveness. Hopefully what she had left of a career is over,” another commentator wrote.

Does Griffin deserve this?

Yes. Griffin’s actions unequivocally warranted more than criticism, and she needed to be dealt a more serious punishment than simply offering another insincere apology. Make no mistake, Griffin isn’t sorry about what she did, she is sorry that people didn’t applaud her for carrying out such a vile act.

It’s not hard to imagine why Griffin thought she could get away with it. The left has a long tradition of applauding vicious fantasies of regicide; the 2006 Bush assassination film “Death of a President” comes to mind.

Many on both sides of the political isle agree that Griffin went way too far, and losing sponsors and gigs on CNN is, for a leftist, an unusual real world consequence. Wouldn’t it be nice if all Democrats faced similar backlash for spouting the vile nonsense many do regularly towards the president?
