Report: Huma Abedin was caught lying to the FBI – that’s a crime

FBI section chief Peter Strzok was recently dismissed from the Russia probe for sending text messages openly critical of the Trump administration — but not before he interviewed Hillary Clinton aides Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills in a previous investigation examining Clinton’s unauthorized use of a private email server.
There is good reason to believe that Abedin and Mills lied in their interviews. As of yet, neither one has been prosecuted.
Strzok also interviewed former National Security adviser Michael Flynn regarding his ties to Russia. While Flynn was ultimately charged with giving false statements to the FBI, Abedin and Mills have completely escaped any prosecution or scrutiny for furnishing their own lies to the FBI.
Flynn paid the price
According to court filings made public just last week, Flynn “did willfully and knowingly make materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statements” to federal agents during a January 24th interview regarding his discussions with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Circa News reporter Sara Carter revealed for the first time on Monday that it was Strzok and another agent who conducted the Flynn interview where false statements were made.
Federal law enforcement experts have questioned the wisdom of charging Flynn with a crime that occurred while he was corresponding with a prejudiced FBI agent. One former FBI official told Fox News’s Sean Hannity that the text messages from Strzok demonstrated “bias that cannot be ignored —particularly if he had anything to do with Flynn’s interview and his role in it.”
The agent also questioned “how logical is it that Flynn is being charged for lying to an agent whose character and neutrality was called into question by the Special Counsel.” An anonymous source from The Washington Post reported that Strzok shared numerous text messages with his alleged lover and FBI attorney Lisa Page which “expressed anti-Trump sentiments and other comments that appeared to favor Clinton.”
Nevertheless, Flynn was charged, and faced significant jail time.
Strzok’s favoritism for Clinton is especially noteworthy considering that he was also placed in charge of conducting interviews with Mills and Abedin. As an FBI section chief, Strzok was instrumental to the Clinton investigation, personally seeing to all of the most important interrogations.
Among these was a July 2nd, 2016 interview that Strzok conducted with Justice Department attorney David Laufman. The pair were ordered to determine what Abedin and Mills knew about Clinton’s unauthorized email server.
Summaries of the interview show that both interview subjects insisted that they knew nothing of their boss’s email server until after Clinton left the State Department in 2013. The summary reads:
Mills did not learn Clinton was using a private server until after Clinton’s [Department of State] tenure. Mills stated she was not even sure she knew what a server was at the time.
Strzok deduced the same from his interview with Abedin, writing that, “Abedin did not know that Clinton had a private server until about a year and a half ago when it became public knowledge.”
However, emails exchanged between the pair tell a decidedly different story. In a leaked email from 2010, Mills wrote to Abedin and IT specialist Justin Cooper:
“hrc email coming back — is server okay?”
“Ur funny. We are on the same server,” Cooper responded.
Additionally, Mills and Abedin were notified in a 2011 email exchange with State Department official Stephen Mull that Clinton’s “email server is down.”
Finally, in an ominous portent of Clinton’s future cyber-security problems, Cooper told the Mills and Abedin that he was forced “to shut down the server” because “someone was trying to hack us.”
Of course, Comey excused the Clinton staffers dishonest testimony, telling the House Judiciary Committee in September 2016 that Mills and Abedin simply suffered from temporary amnesia during their interview with Strzok. “Having done many investigations myself, there’s always conflicting recollections of facts,” explained Comey, adding, “some of which are central [to the investigation], some of which are peripheral.”
Strzok himself may have helped Comey craft this confusing explanation. In fact, Strzok edited the speech from Comey which officially exonerated Clinton of any criminal prosecution resulting from her use of the server. Strzok changed the term “grossly negligent” to the softer phrase, “extremely careless.”
Both of the dishonest Clinton staffers have so far escaped any prosecution or formal reprimand for their bold-faced deception. Meanwhile, Flynn has his good name publicly smeared for the same offense. There were no talks of a “peripheral” “recollection of facts” to dismiss Flynn’s testimony.
Flynn apologized for his dishonesty, while defending his loyalty to America and respect for military service — sentiments and service records completely lacking from Mills and Abedin.
After over 33 years of military service to our country, including nearly five years in combat away from my family, and then my decision to continue to serve the United States, it has been extraordinarily painful to endure these many months of false accusations of ‘treason’ and other outrageous acts.
Strzok was simply expressing what his co-investigators could not afford to say. For this reason, Mills and Abedin are not the exception to this investigation — they are the rule.
Americans learned have already that James Comey exonerated Clinton months before interviewing her and other key witnesses. Certainly, the former Obama FBI executive is not the only partisan involved in this investigation who made up his mind a long time ago.
Mueller ensured a prejudiced investigation when he constructed a team of liberal prosecutors and career democrats to go after a conservative president. Mills’ and Abedin’s absolution is just the latest injustice in an opaque investigation which the president rightly refers to as a “witch hunt.”
Expect many more corrupt acts of partisan misconduct to follow.
