A potential terrorist threat within U.S. borders has been neutralized.

Law enforcement arrested 20-year-old Kim Anh Vo on Tuesday for her alleged involvement in an internet group that pledged support and aid to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, better known as ISIS.

Vo, who lives in Georgia, has gone by various names online, including [email protected], SyxxZMC, Zozo, Miss.Bones, Sage Pi, and Kitty Lee.

In the newly released criminal complaint, prosecutors allege that Vo joined United Cyber Caliphate (UCC) in April 2016. UCC is an online group that not only pledged allegiance to ISIS, but also sought to carry out cyberattacks against Americans.

The group and its affiliates reportedly spread ISIS propaganda on the internet and published “kill lists,” names of individuals that the UCC wanted their followers to kill, including members of the U.S. Armed Forces and the State Department.

Prosecutors say that Vo helped to recruit members during two separate periods: in April and May 2016 and in January and February 2017. On the latter trip, Vo reportedly recruited a minor from Norway.

The group then created a video threatening a nonprofit organization in New York City, which reportedly contained the message: “You messed with the Islamic State, SO EXPECT US SOON.”

This was “followed by a scene displaying a photograph of the organization’s chief executive officer and former U.S. Ambassador (CEO), along with the words: ‘[CEO], we will get you,'” according to the criminal complaint.

Later, on April 2, 2017, the group allegedly posted a “kill list” containing the names and personal information of more than 8,000 people. The list was accompanied by another video, which included a scene of a man being decapitated alongside a message that read as follows:

We have a message to the people of the U.S., and most importantly, your president Trump:  Know that we continue to wage war against you, know that your counter attacks only makes stronger. The UCC will start a new step in this war against you…and We will release a list with over 8000 names, addresses, and email addresses, of those who fight against the US.  Or live amongst the kuffar.  Kill them wherever you find them!

20-year-old faces decades in prison

Vo was arrested on Tuesday morning by authorities from the FBI New York Field Office, New York Joint Terrorism Task Force, and Atlanta Field Office’s Augusta Resident Agency.

Later in the day, she appeared in federal court in Augusta, GA, before Judge Brian K. Epps. The prosecution, which is being handled by the Terrorism and International Narcotics Unit, has charged Vo with conspiring to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization — namely, ISIS.

If found guilty, Vo could face up to 20 years in federal prison.
