Though the mainstream media has gone out of its way to avoid naming the individual suspected to be behind the now-infamous “whistleblower” complaint that forms the basis of the Democrats’ ongoing impeachment inquiry, independent outlets have named the so-called whistleblower as Eric Ciaramella, a former White House staffer who worked on the National Security Council (NSC) on Ukraine.
Now, a report from Breitbart has revealed that Ciaramella has ties to none other than billionaire leftist financier George Soros.
According to the report, Ciaramella and a handful of other Obama administration officials were included as recipients of a 2016 email — obtained by way of an unrelated Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by Citizens United — from Jeff Goldstein, a close associate of Soros who is a senior director at the billionaire’s Open Society Foundation.
That message, which reportedly came among others of a similar nature, informed Ciaramella and others about the whereabouts of Soros, including who he was meeting with, the topics of those discussions, and Soros’ plans for the future involving Ukraine and other European nations in that vicinity.
Soros was apparently in meetings with European leaders to push for more liberal visa policies on Ukraine, part of a broader effort to see Ukraine brought into the fold of the European Union.
Other recipients of the email included State Department official Victoria Nuland, who reportedly worked closely with Ciaramella. According to Breitbart, Nuland is also believed to have played a key role in the early distribution of the so-called “Steele dossier,” a document compiled by ex-British spy Christopher Steele that helped Justice Department officials obtain warrants to spy on Trump’s 2016 campaign in what later became Robert Mueller’s investigation, according to The New Yorker.
Of course, this is far from the only link between Ciaramella and Soros. Connections have also been established between the former CIA official and a Soros-funded think tank known as the Atlantic Council.
Aside from receiving funding from Soros’ Open Society Foundation, the council also reportedly received funds from the corrupt Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings, the controversial Ukrainian energy company on whose board Hunter Biden — son of former Vice President Joe Biden, who Ciaramella worked closely with on Ukraine — previously sat.
There is also another Soros-funded organization linked to Ciaramella: the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which was cited several times in the whistleblower complaint.
According to Breitbart, a July 22 report from the project, which mirrored a similar article from BuzzFeed News, delved extensively into Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani’s supposed activities in Ukraine, which allegedly ran counter to the established policy of the U.S. State Department and other globalist interests shared by Soros and his ilk.
To be sure, though some outlets have reported without suspicion that Ciaramella is the so-called “whistleblower” who complained about Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, that has yet to be confirmed.
Even still, he appears to be the most likely person to have launched this latest effort to “get Trump” — and the increasing frequency of reports linking him with Soros only seems to add credence to that presumption.
