Trump: Ilhan Omar is ‘lucky to be where she is’

July 20, 2019

The war of words between President Donald Trump and the “squad” continued on Friday, with the president singling out Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

Responding to Omar’s promise to be his “nightmare,” Trump flatly stated, “She’s lucky to be where she is.”

Message to Omar

The president’s comments came yesterday during a White House event that was held in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11’s mission to the moon.

“I’m unhappy when a congresswoman goes, ‘I’m going to be the president’s nightmare,'” he told reporters. “She’s lucky to be where she is, let me tell you.”

During his comments, the president also condemned Omar for the anti-Semitic language she has used in the past. “The things that she has said are a disgrace to our country,” he stated.

The all too perfect homecoming

Omar made her declaration, that she will continue to be Trump’s “nightmare,” before a crowd of supporters who were ready to welcome her back to Minnesota on Thursday evening.

“We are going to continue to be a nightmare to this president,” she said. “Because his policies are a nightmare to us. We are not deterred, we are not frightened, we are ready.”

Many have called attention to the fact that the whole scene — the crowd, the cameramen, even the congresswoman’s language — seemed a bit too convenient, perhaps even scripted.

Earlier in the week, the president suggested in a series of tweets that Omar and the other leftist “squad” members, Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) go and fix the places from which they came if they don’t like America.

Perfect foil

For this, Trump has been blasted as a “racist” by Democrats and the media — yet again. But the president has only doubled-down on his criticism of the far-left congresswomen and defended the rally attendees as “incredible patriots.”

It has to be said that if Omar is giving Trump nightmares, those must be the most pleasant nightmares the president has ever had, as she and other far-left members of the “squad” continue to give him juicy sound bites for the 2020 campaign. I’d bet the president is thinking, “Keep the nightmares coming!”
