ABC reporter who covered Epstein says he was ‘100%’ murdered: Report

November 6, 2019

“Epstein didn’t kill himself” isn’t just an internet joke — it’s likely the truth, according to an ABC reporter who investigated the Jeffrey Epstein case.

ABC anchor Amy Robach said that Epstein was “100%” murdered in a hot mic recording published by Project Veritas, Fox News reports. The recording has prompted backlash against ABC after Robach, in a candid monologue, said that the network killed her story in 2016 despite heaps of corroborating evidence.

“There will come a day when we will realize Jeffrey Epstein was the most prolific pedophile this country has ever known. I had it all, three years ago,” she said, according to the Daily Wire.

ABC reporter: Epstein “100%” was killed

Epstein’s untimely, mysterious death before trial in prison prompted immediate speculation that the multi-millionaire was murdered by someone in the rarified orbit in which he moved. The money man’s Rolodex was filled with powerful names, from Prince Andrew to former President Bill Clinton.

In a video published Tuesday, Robach — apparently unaware that she was being recorded — said that she “had everything” on the Epstein story three years ago, long before Epstein was jailed for sex trafficking this summer. The journalist said that she wanted to interview Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre, but that ABC killed the story under pressure from Buckingham Palace over Epstein’s ties to Prince Andrew.

“I’ve had the story for three years… We would not put it on the air,” Robach said on the hot mic. “It was unbelievable what we had, Clinton, we had everything.”

Robach also claimed that she “100%” believes that Epstein was killed, just like those “conspiracy theorists” who have questioned the circumstances of Epstein’s death. Forensic pathologist Michael Baden told Fox last week that Epstein’s body showed signs of homicide.

“He made his whole living blackmailing people. There were a lot of men in those planes, a lot of men who visited that island, [a] lot of powerful men who came into that apartment,” Robach said. “I knew immediately.”

Epstein “lived off blackmail”

According to the official story, Epstein killed himself in his jail cell one Saturday morning in August, despite Epstein being the most high-profile prisoner in the country. Epstein was previously placed on suicide watch after he was found with laceration marks on his neck, although Epstein’s lawyers maintained that he was actually attacked by a fellow inmate, a fearsome killer cop, according to Fox.

But Robach said that she does not believe the “suicide attempt” theory and that the narrative was likely planted to dissuade questions about Epstein’s death. Epstein’s brother and lawyers have also said that they don’t think he died by suicide, according to the Daily Wire.

“I knew immediately and they made it seem as though he made that ‘suicide attempt’ two weeks earlier,” Robach said. “But his lawyers claimed that he was roughed up by his cellmate around the neck. That was all like to plant the seed and then, that’s why I really believe it, like really believe.”

Robach has since walked back her hot mic take, saying that she spoke in a “private moment of frustration,” according to People magazine, and that her reporting lacked sufficient evidence to air it, contradicting her own candid remarks on camera. But plenty of Americans agree with her honest, incredulous take. Will we ever know the truth?
