Report: Palestinian group linked to Omar, Tlaib bizarrely accused Israel of stealing human organs
A Palestinian group that sponsored and organized Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib’s (D-MI) recently canceled trip to Israel has some explaining to do.
A new report from Breitbart reveals that in 2010, the group — known as Miftah — published what Breitbart calls “an anti-Semitic screed” denouncing Israel and bizarrely accusing the nation of harvesting human organs from Palestinian and Ukrainian children and from victims of the deadly 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti earlier that year.
Omar-linked group targets Israel
According to Breitbart, the allegations were penned by Bouthaina Shaaban, a media adviser for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
“People still fall victim to earthquakes, disasters, occupation, oppression, and terrorism. They also fall victim to campaigns which use their tragedy to achieve other purposes which have nothing to do with the value, importance, sanctity, and dignity of human life,” Shaaban wrote in her piece for Miftah in February 2010.
She went on: “After the Swedish journalist Donald Bostrom wrote about the Israeli army killing Palestinian youth in order to harvest their organs, there were other media reports about Israelis stealing Ukrainian children in order to harvest their organs.”
Shaaban also alleged that “there are documented reports from Haiti that organs are being stolen by Israelis without international justice intervening to put an end to such criminal practices against innocent vulnerable people.” But she failed to provide any such documentation.
Meanwhile, The Jerusalem Post reported just weeks after Shaaban’s accusations were published that the claims she made were false. The Post determined that the theory stemmed from Hezbollah television and a Gaza-based website called The Palestine Telegraph.
According to Breitbart, the “media reports about Israelis stealing Ukrainian children in order to harvest their organs” originated with a Ukrainian professor who first made the allegations at a conference in Kyiv in 2009. They also remain unproven.

For her part, Shaaban also named the United States in her list of grievances, asserting that the U.S. “took advantage of the chaos in Haiti to tighten its control over the island.” But the Syrian politician’s apparent problems with America didn’t stop her organization from teaming up with two of the most popular freshman Democrats in Congress to organize their trip to Israel.
That trip that was canceled before it even began last week when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu barred Reps. Tlaib and Omar from entering the nation on the grounds that they support the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
While it’s not all that surprising that Israel doesn’t want the company of foreign diplomats who seek to delegitimatize their country, it should be alarming that there are two Democrats in Washington considered so extreme that even one of America’s closest allies is unwilling to let them visit.
But knowing that Omar and Tlaib have ties to groups like this one, who can blame them?
