Judge Jeanine Pirro says Trump is showing ‘superhuman’ strength amid impeachment

November 18, 2019

The mainstream media establishment is back to speculating about President Donald Trump’s physical and mental fitness after he had an unscheduled doctor’s visit, but his press secretary said that he’s “healthy as can be.”

White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham was quizzed about “rumors” concerning Trump’s recent check-up by Judge Jeannine Pirro, who agreed with Grisham’s assessment of the president as the picture of health, with Pirro even arguing that Trump has shown “superhuman” energy in facing down his foes, according to Mediaite.

“He’s almost superhuman,” Pirro said. “I don’t know how anyone can deal with what he’s dealing with.”

Pirro praises Trump’s fortitude

News of the doctor’s visit renewed speculation on a dormant but recurring anti-Trump theme: that he is mentally unfit for the presidency or otherwise in bad physical condition. Many critics of the president took issue with the White House’s claim that Trump completed just one part of an otherwise routine annual exam.

“Unless the healthiest man alive is shifting to fiscal year reporting, two medicals in the same year ain’t annual, it’s biannual,” said Philippe Reines, a top aide to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign.

Trump tweeted Saturday that he had completed “phase one” of his annual physical examination during an impromptu visit at Walter Reed Medical Center — his first check-up since his last physical exam in February. When Pirro pressed Grisham on the “rumors,” the press secretary maintained that Trump’s visit was routine and that he just took advantage of a day off to get ahead of things.

“He’s healthy as can be,” Grisham said. “I put a statement out about that. He has got more energy than anybody in the White House. That man works from 6 a.m. until, you know, very, very late at night. He’s doing just fine.”

In the statement, Grisham pointed to Trump’s “repeated vigorous rally performances” as evidence that Trump is doing well. Trump’s previous exams in 2018 and 2019 came back with “very good” results according to his doctors, The Washington Post notes.

High energy

Indeed, President Trump is not exactly known for his lethargic personality. Even his detractors must admit — and they often do — that Trump’s idiosyncrasies, from his early-morning tweet blasts to tireless attacks on the “Fake News” and other foes, can get wearisome.

In fact, it precisely Trump’s very enigmatic, energetic personality that has prompted the kind of speculation about his mental state that surrounded his previous check-ups. A common theme in Trump criticism is that he is “wearing out” the country with his often erratic behavior and frequent “lies.”

The 73-year-old president certainly looks and sounds vigorous for his age, and he has often bragged about his stamina and physical condition, contrasting his energy levels with his chief political rival in the 2020 race, “Sleepy” Joe Biden. The president said that he felt like a “young, vibrant man” and the “youngest person” after Biden entered the presidential race.

Trump has often cited Rush Limbaugh’s comment that the radio host can’t think of anyone else who could handle the immense hostility Trump has faced from Democrats, the media, and other anti-Trump institutions. Indeed, after facing down a Russia hoax that lasted two years, a Ukrainian sequel, countless legal battles, endless obstruction from Democrats in Congress and routine negativity from the press, President Trump’s psychological resilience is something to behold.

Adding to those headaches, Trump now faces theorizing on the Internet about his physical exams. Love or hate him, there’s nobody quite like Donald J. Trump.
