Laura Ingraham lands prize interview with Trump

February 10, 2019

Fox News star has earned another big time, exclusive interview.

It has been announced that Laura Ingraham, of “The Ingraham Angle,” will sit down will President Donald Trump for a live interview on Monday following his rally in El Paso, Texas.

What to expect?

In the statement announcing the interview, the Fox network revealed that Ingraham and Trump “will discuss a potential border deal, among other topics.” Of course, it is no surprise that the wall will dominate the conversation.

We are just a handful of days away from February 15, the deadline for lawmakers to agree on a budget for the federal government. If they fail to do so, then another government shutdown will likely occur.

The first shutdown came to an end just a few weeks ago. The longest in history, it lasted 35 days, from December 22, 2018, to January 25, 2019. And, its cause was disagreement over the allocation of funds for a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The wall impasse

Thus far, there is no sign that either President Trump or the Democrats will capitulate on this issue. Trump, once again, called for it in this week’s State of the Union address and has even been considering declaring a national emergency should the Democrats not agree to fund it.

“I think we might work a deal, and if we don’t, we might go that route,” the president said last month.

At the same time, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) insists that there will be neither funding for a wall nor a government shutdown. Other Democrats, however, have shown more of a willingness to compromise.

Thus, with still no idea as to what is going to happen, we can expect the wall to dominate Ingraham’s interview with Trump.

A Fox regular

Since becoming president, Trump has been interviewed by Fox on over forty occasions. This includes one other sitdown with Ingraham, which took place at the White House on October 29, 2018.

In contrast, during that same time period, Trump made no appearances on either CNN or MSNBC. This is hardly surprising considering that Trump frequently refers to these networks as “Fake News.”

Ingraham’s interview with Trump is set to take place on Monday at 10 pm/est.
