Rush Limbaugh was visibly emotional on Wednesday when a caller offered to donate a lung to the broadcaster, who recently revealed he has cancer.
In a poignant moment, the radio legend began to tear up on air and expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support he has received from his fans since sharing his diagnosis, Breitbart reported. “Well, you all just continue to stop me dead in my tracks. I continue to get emails and flowers and cards. I mean, it’s voluminous. And it is so touching,” Limbaugh said.
Limbaugh moved to tears
Since radio legend shocked the conservative world with the sad news, his numberless fans — from regular callers to the president of the United States — have been showering him with support. Limbaugh was genuinely taken aback when a caller on his program Wednesday offered to give up a lung.
The caller asked to speak to the radio host’s producer, James “Bo Snerdley” Golden, and a bemused-looking Limbaugh cut to break. Limbaugh thought that the caller was trying to get patched back into the show, but what “Snerdley” had to tell him moved Rush to tears.
“I just asked Snerdley, ‘What did that guy want [who] was through talking to me and wanted to talk to you?’” Limbaugh said. “Snerdley did not hesitate, did not drop a beat, said, ‘He wanted to donate a lung, if you wanted one.'” Callers on the program have been offering to donate lungs twice a day, he added.
“Oh, wow… That would have been the last thing that I… I thought he was making arrangements to call back in,” Limbaugh said of the caller. “This is why I said last Friday, last week, how lucky I am, and people have trouble understanding that. But believe me, everything that’s happened to me is a blessing. And I hear things like that, and I don’t know what to do with it.”
A viral clip from the Washington Examiner showed the moving scene:

Conservative legend battling cancer
With an uncanny ability to analyze liberal media spin, Limbaugh is without a doubt among the most talented and influential conservative commentators alive. His hugely devoted fan base, the largest in radio, numbers in the millions.
President Donald Trump awarded Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom at his third State of the Union address last week. The broadcasting titan had shared the news of his diagnosis on his radio show just a day earlier.
“This day has been one of the most difficult days in recent memory, for me, because I’ve known this moment was coming,” Limbaugh said, choking with emotion, according to Fox. “I’m sure that you all know by now I really don’t like talking about myself and I don’t like making things about me… [But] one thing that I know, that has happened over the 31-plus years of this program is that there has been an incredible bond that has developed between all of you and me.”
Indeed, Rush is simply irreplaceable. We’re all praying for his recovery.
