BREAKING: Ben Affleck’s Secret Scandal Exposed
Erin / CCL
The A-list actor’s sordid past is catching up to him and it’s not pretty.
Hollywood’s hypocrisy may be best characterized by Ben Affleck, who claimed to be “saddened and angry” about the sexual misdeeds of former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and took President Donald Trump to task for “locker room” conversation he’d engaged in a dozen years ago. But we now learn that Affleck has himself engaged in uninvited groping of actresses and media personalities.
Back in 2003, Affleck groped Hilarie Burton during an MTV “Total Request Live” (TRL) interview when she was “just a kid.”
“I had to laugh back then, so I wouldn’t cry,” she later said.
35-year-old actress Hilarie Burton spoke out against the Oscar winner Ben Affleck on Tuesday.
When someone mentioned the 15-year-old incident and added that everyone probably forgot about it, Burton corrected her.
She replied with a terse tweet:
@ShaniceBrim @naimaism I didn’t forget.
Affleck offered a lame apology:
I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize
More Affleck victims come forward
What happened to Burton wasn’t the exception — it was the rule for the “Batman” actor, who is reportedly now being referred to as “Buttman.”
Another Affleck interview was conducted with the interviewer — Anne-Marie Losique — perched on his lap the entire time. The actor’s hands roam over her body throughout the exchange, which becomes embarrassing to watch. The interview took place in 2004 for Montreal’s entertainment news show “Box Office.”
“They would like it better if you did this show topless, the station, wouldn’t they?” he asks the Canadian TV personality.
“You usually show a lot more cleavage than this. What’s the story? Why are you covering it up today?” he presses.
Everything you know about Affleck is wrong
Affleck’s apology to Burton prompted another victim to come forward — this one Annamarie Tendler — who claimed she was groped at a party in 2014, ten years after the Losique public spectacle.
I would also love to get an apology from Ben Affleck who grabbed my ass at a Golden Globes party in 2014.
But it turned out that she wasn’t the only one.
I was also at this party and *multiple* friends had this same exact experience. https://t.co/GlSIllKqAJ
Hypocrisy, thy name is Affleck
Affleck’s sexual misdeeds would have probably been kept simmering on the back burner except for one thing — his high-minded, alter boy statements over the sexual misdeeds of others.
Vanity Fair asked the actor about Trump’s locker room talk shortly after it came to light. Trump’s remarks were from a 2005 “Access Hollywood” interview.
“Women should never be talked about in that way,” Affleck told the magazine.
After Weinstein’s own acts of sexual misconduct were revealed, involving more than a dozen women — both employees and actresses — Affleck exhibited surprise, anger, and sorrow. He tweeted a statement on the matter Tuesday:
But no one was buying it — least of all actress Rose McGowan, one of Weinstein’s victims. She shot back, saying that Affleck knew about Weinstein’s harassment all along. In fact, McGowan claims that Affleck told her he told Weinstein “to stop doing that.” She tweeted:
You want to play let’s play #ROSEARMY
All told, the actor should have learned to keep his mouth shut. He’s shown a talent for repeating lines written for him by others, but he’s terrible at coming up with his own.
